Tony Favuzzi started training kickboxing after school at Leichardt PCYC when he was 14years old. During that time Tony had some interclub tournaments and some kickboxing fights. After that, Tony then started Shorin Ryu Karate which he graded through the levels, reaching Black Belt 1st Dan. During those years, Tony had entered a few karate tournaments. Tony then discovered Muaythai. Intrigued in this Martial Art using punches, kicks, knees, elbows and stand up grappling, he had finally found what he was searching for most of his life. He travelled to Thailand to train and learn the art of Muaythai and Muay Boran. Tony Favuzzi has over 20 years experience in Muaythai, He is a Thailand accredited trainer who is also the NSW WMC, IFMA, MTA State President, Muaythai Australia General Secretary and Australian Representative for the Oceania Muaythai Federation Amateur. Tony Favuzzi has made a name for himself and for his gym worldwide. He is highly respected in the community and in the sport of Muaythai. During his fighting career, he was known as, Tony 'The Taipan' Favuzzi. In 2003 Tony Taipan Favuzzi became the WMC State Champion in two weight divisions. He captured the WMC heavy weight and super heavy weight title belts. In 2004 Tony Taipan Favuzzi captured the WMC Oceania Super Heavy Weight Title on Fox sports in front of millions of viewers worldwide. As well as a popular fighter with a big following, Tony Favuzzi runs a very successful Muay Thai Gym and together with that has trained 16 Muaythai Champion title holders. Tony teaches Muaythai in the Education System, at schools and at the gym. Tony is a professional WMC Referee and Judge. |
ELIAS TIGER1 DOLAPTSIS![]() |
Elias Dolaptsis started training at Taipan Muaythai Gym in 1997 as a beginner. He trained hard and graded through all his levels to become an instructor (Khru). In 2001, Elias had his first fight in Thailand. It was a war. Elias and the Thai were going hit for hit until Elias knocked the Thai fighter out, at the start of the 4th round with a head kick. This was a big achievement for him. It took a lot of nerves and courage having his first fight in Thailand and having Stephan Fox, Paul Slowinski and Tony Favuzzi in the corner. Elias is a great ambassador for the sport and is highly respected in the world of Muaythai. He is the General Secretary for the Oceania Muaythai Federation Amateur. Elias is also the head of the Referee and Judges Muaythai Australia he travels every year to the International Federation Muaythai Amateur World Championships and King's Cup in Thailand to referee. Elias runs Referee and Judges courses all over Australia for the World Muaythai Council, International Federation Muaythai Amateur and Muaythai Australia. Elias is a full time instructor (Khru) at Taipan Muaythai Gym and is also a Thailand accredited instructor (Khru) Recognized by the World Muaythai Council and International Federation Muaythai Amateur Thailand.

Anucha trained Muaythai growing up in Thailand, he helped train his cousin who is a popular fighter in the north of Thailand Chiang mai. Years later he migrated to Australia and ended up training at Taipan Muaythai Gym he has had several fights and now is one of the Taipan team who brings his experience and knowledge from his home land. He teaches classes and trains the fighters at Taipan Muaythai Gym. |
DIMITRI ILIEV![]() |
Dimitri started training at Taipan Muaythai Gym at the age of 12, he is one of Taipans elite fighters. Dimtri 'Dim Slim' Iliev has had 36 Fights and is still active. Dimitri won the Junior Lightweight WMC State Title at 14 years old, he then captured the Welterweight WMC State Title and Aftermarth champion belt. He has also taught Muaythai for sport at schools and Dimtri is looked up to by the students and brings a lot of experience to the gym. |

Nick started training Kyokushin Karate at an early age, he trained for a few years and earned his Black belt. In 1998 he started training at Taipan Muaythai gym he graded through the 10 levels to become a Khru he now brings his years of experience and knowledge to the students at Taipan Muaythai Gym. |

Michael has trained at Taipan Muaythai Gym for the last 5 years he is one of Taipan Muaythai Gyms top fighters with 15 Fights under him and still active. Michael has achieved his 10 levels of Muaythai and is one of the Taipan team who brings his Muaythai and fight knowledge to the students at Taipan Muaythai Gym. |
LACHLAN STEWART![]() |
Lachlan first started Karate as a youngster and earned his black belt, he then moved to kickboxing where he became the WKBF and ISKA Champion. Lachlan started training at Taipan Muaythai Gym 7 years ago and became part of the team. Lachlan achieved his dream of being a Muaythai Champion and captured the WMC Super Middle Weight State Title and the WMC Cruiserweight State Title. Lachlan is another of Taipan Muaythai Gyms top fighters with 33 fights under him. Lachlan runs the Taipan Muaythai Taren Point Gym, also a Cert.4 PT trainer. Lachlan brings his ring experience, Muaythai knowledge and fitness training to the students at Taipan Muaythai Taren Point. |
